Every NFL player this season has faced some sort of adversity, whether it be because of the pandemic, racial injustices, a lackluster team, or a return from an injury. Despite being in a time of duress, each player and coach on this list has performed at an elite level.

At first glance, you may laugh at the thought that an 8-8 team, starting a 5’9’ quarterback who can barely see over his linemen, could make the Super Bowl in two years. However, after a deeper look at their roster, the Cardinals aren’t some mediocre team, but potential 2022 Super Bowl title contenders.

The 2020-21 NBA season won’t look “normal.” The NBA will explore a new format: teams will play a shortened season and travel in MLB-like sets; players will be sidelined not only by ankle injuries, but coronavirus colds; and, like in the NBA bubble, fans will have to watch basketball from their homes. Even with these changes, a champion will be crowned by the end of the season. Here are five teams with a realistic shot of gaining the prestigious title this July:

Lakers fans can start preparations for a championship parade—if the pandemic improves of course. In a trade that was announced following the 2020 NBA draft, the Los Angeles Lakers received guard Dennis Schroder from the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for guard Danny Green and the 28th overall pick. By trading Green for Schroder, the Lakers received an efficient shooter and prolific scorer, provided a consistent third option for LeBron James and Anthony Davis, and significantly increased their chances of defending their NBA title.
