On a cool Sunday morning in Valencia, an unknown Kenyan runner suddenly raced into the history books, completing the half-marathon course in world record time. Kibiwott Kandie’s mark of 57:32 broke the previous world record of 58:01, set by fellow countryman Geoffry Kipsang Kamworor in Amsterdam last year.
